Primrose detective Const Patrick Marakalala was commended for his efforts which led to the conviction of Tapson Mpepho.

Mpepho (32) was found guilty of an October 2015 murder, which took place in the Makause informal settlement.

He was sentenced to ten years direct imprisonment in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.

Primrose SAPS station commander Col Albertina Vesi thanked Marakalala for his hard work and dedication.

“Criminals must learn that you cannot run away from the hands of the law.

“If you commit a crime the police will hunt you until you are brought to book,” she said.

She encouraged other detectives to learn from Marakalala’s example.
