The newly-founded Germiston City SAB League team played against a strong Kathorus Arsenal side this past weekend at Germiston’s home ground, the Germiston City Sports Club.

It was a very competitive end-to-end game with Kathorus taking an early lead after some early pressure on their goal by the Germiston side.

Sloppy defending allowed Kathorus to go 2-0 up but some strong words from the Germiston coach and an early substitution sparked the Germiston side into action with a well-executed goal and a further goal just before half-time.

After the break and some prolonged possession Germiston scored a well-taken free kick and survived an onslaught on their goal by Kathorus to end the match victorious with a score of 3-2.

The side is now unbeaten after three games having scored 18 goals and only conceded two.
