Power out in some Germiston suburbs

Cable theft has resulted in a power outage in a number of Germiston suburbs.

Ward 36 councillor Wendy Morgan has informed the GCN that there is a power outage in a number of Germiston suburbs.

This is due to cables being stolen between Germiston Extension Eight and Johnson Matthey.

“The substations will remain off until the repairs on the cables are completed,” said Morgan.

Affected areas include Dukathole Extensions Eight and Nine, Tedstoneville, the Germiston industrial area, Johnson Matthey and its surrounding areas.

Due to the extent of the theft the estimated time of restoration is 6pm.
