Local learner named as brand ambassador for The Nelson Mandela School Sleepout™

Galway Primary School’s Lindokuhle Sibanda, a Grade Seven learner, has been appointed a brand ambassador for The Nelson Mandela School SleepOut™.

On what would have been Madiba’s 100th birthday, schools across the country are invited to join in The Nelson Mandela School Sleepout™ – Empowered by Liliesleaf: For The Tomorrow Trust.

The 2018 SleepOut™ Movement would like to see 200 schools sleep out on July 18 on their premises and raise as many donations for the country’s schools in need, whilst collectively breaking a Guinness World Book of Records for Madiba.

Speaking at the launch of the 2018 SleepOut™ Movement, recently held at Chancellor House, Mobgeni Sibanda, Redhill deputy head boy and 2017 School SleepOut™ brand ambassador said, “The SleepOut™ initiative gives you more awareness of what is out there especially when you go to different beneficiaries, like children’s homes.

“It really opens your eyes to what’s happening in South Africa.”

The SleepOut™ Movement has raised more money than any other single overnight event in South Africa’s history.

In order to drive The Nelson Mandela School Sleepout™ – Empowered by Liliesleaf: For The Tomorrow Trust, brand ambassadors have been appointed at schools across the country including Galway Primary School’s Lindo Sibanda, a Grade Seven learner.

The SleepOut™ Movement congratulates these young ambassadors and encourages other schools to join the movement.
