The Primrose police recently arrested a 42-year-old man for murder.
The arrest was made in the Makause informal settlement after the victim’s sister reported the crime.
“She explained to officers that on July 17 the accused had allegedly poured boiling water on her sister and she had to be rushed to hospital.
“The hospital called her a few days later saying her sister had died, and fearing the accused would flee to Lesotho, where he is from, she rushed to inform police of the incident,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Officers responded swiftly and the man was arrested and detained at the Primrose Police Station.
He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where his case was postponed for a bail application.
